Voice lesson (1 hour)
45
I'm a professional singer, voice and music teacher. BA in Music from Williams College, 8 years professional experience since then. Jazz, classical, broadway, folk, opera — I'm quite versatile, but might not be the best choice if you're interested in rap or really hard rock. Out in the real world I charge $45/lesson, so I've set it to the same in Simbis, but I'm not really quite sure how they translate, so feel free to offer something different. I personalize lessons to your individual needs, typically working on exercises for around half the time and singing a song of your choice for the rest. I'll accompany you at the piano, and help you perform at your best.
Training & Qualifications
BA in Music from Williams College (2008), 8 years experience as a freelance professional vocalist since then. I've been teaching voice for 6 years, after studying vocal pedagogy (how to teach voice) with Emily Romney, professor at Longy School of Music. I'm tenor section leader for Arlington Street Church Choir and Stämbandet, and also sing with Cantata Singers, Labyrinth Choir, Night Song, and MetroWest Choral Artists. I teach also for Classroom Cantatas, a music composition program in the Boston public schools.
Availability & Preferences
As a professional musician, I tend to have a lot of night-and-weekend commitments, with more availability on weekday mornings and afternoons, but it varies so just ask. I usually have time Monday evenings as well.
