Old Germanic Alliterative Poetry
I will create Allitervate Verse Poetry in English. Specifically I will follow Old Germanic/Norse form known as Fornyrðislag. Here is an example:
Dark Dwells, Dire hope
A bitter brew, made to choke,
Heavy hangs the hangman’s rope
We all fall limp at a careless stroke.
The Wind whirrs chill, on the weepy morn
Golden leaves glisten, glued to wet earth.
Winter yet abides, autumn’s short reign.
Life lingers to a halt, limp and beleaguered.

About Dane Crowton
My name is Dane. I have a degree in Anthropology from Utah State University. I've also graduated from an Ethnographic Field School that studied the resurgence of Cambodian Buddhism, in Cambodia. M...ost recently I've worked as a Health and Safety Officer in the Bakken Oil Fields of North Dakota, but that is not my passion. I have an Anthropological interest and passion for Old Germanic history and culture. I've been studying it extensively for many years and have a unusual familiarity with the subject. show moreOpen to other proposals
