Oh dear! DEER! Are the dear deer having a feast off of your landscape? Whether it is in city, the suburbs or the countryside, the bane of many a gardener is deer decimating their ornamental landscape. While it is true that there are some plants that deer absolutely love, it is also true that there are some plants at which deer turn up their noses. However, if deer are hungry enough they will eat very nearly ANYTHING. It's like eating lima beans (sorry lima bean lovers!) vs a piece of cake...most people pick the cake over the lima beans, but if you are hungry enough...well, you get the picture. I will send you a list of plants that deer tend not to be very interested in eating...the "lima bean list". These plants are considered resistant to deer browsing. I can't guarantee it! Most plants are for the northern parts of the country and the midwest-hardiness zones 6 and lower. If you don't know your zone, send me your zip code and I will look up your zone.

I am a registered landscape architect in the State of Michigan. I have over 32 years of experience with plants and garden design. I have degrees in landscape architecture from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. I love plants and I love helping people design beautiful, restorative landscapes for their homes.
