Bike chain bracelets!

15

15 per unit - - Posted Mar 28, 2017

I make these bracelets from old stretched bicycle chains. There is no extra parts used so it has a very clean look and is difficult to see how it latches on without knowing! The chains are usually higher end road bike chains, so they have may have cut outs and will generally be lighter and thinner than other chains. I just need to know your wrist size to get the correct length!

Due to the nature of the material it will occasionally pinch hairs between the plates, but I wear one most days and it seems to happen rarely (although I am not particularly hairy). I would also advise taking them off when showering or swimming as chains do rust, but don't worry about getting caught in the rain.

I can make virtually any size. I clean the chain thoroughly so they are not greasy or grimy. While I can mail them out I would prefer to meet in person to make sure you understand how the clasping mechanic works and how to get it off.

Training & Qualifications

I've been through a few iterations of this bracelet before coming to the state they are currently in, and have been wearing mine for the past two years without issue.

Availability & Preferences

This is a quick meet up so I am very flexible.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Connor Larson

I'm finishing up my undergrad program here in Minnesota after living in Illinois for most of my life with a brief stint in Colorado. In my free time I love to cook, bike, and play games with friends. ...I've worked at bike shops, as a caterer, and maintenance with each expanding my knowledge more and more. I like figuring out how things work and what makes them tick. I'm generally a friendly person, although not always loud; I tend to be a better listener than a talker and do my best to keep an even keel in most situations. There aren't very many things I will say no to without giving them a try, and I usually find the best in whatever I can. I was fortunate enough to travel to China recently and have really appreciated the Traditional Chinese Medicine and practices surrounding it (acupuncture, acupressure, TCM in food, etc.). It was an amazing experience and really helps to open ones eyes to new things. I have a wonderful fiance who is an amazingly hard worker and is working on her career in professional art. Although neither one of us are from around here we both plan on settling down in the Twin Cities. I always joke about how I like to do all the cooking and she knows her way around heavy duty power tools (a plethora of different saws, welders, forges, etc.). Specific things that I have learned how to do over time: nearly every type of bike repair out there (although I don't trust myself with working inside internal gear hubs), basic plumbing, caulking, grouting, cooking chili, stew, stirfry, fried rice, seasoning cast iron, building computers, garnishing dishes, serving a full course meal, setting up home audio systems, and more. show more
