Blind playtesting of tabletop games
60
One of the most crucial elements of designing a tabletop game is play-testing — especially blind playtesting. If you're reading this, you know how important feedback is to your designs — especially from people that aren't close friends or family.
As a service here on Simbi, I will print your work-in-progress and rules, play it, and offer feedback on it. I'll be using a feedback form partially derived from the Game Crafter's 'Sanity Test' — it covers the rules, gameplay, notes any issues, and so on.
Please note this service is for **TABLETOP** games that fall on the 'simple' side. This is not for RPG's, heavier tabletop games, or video games. As a fellow game designer, you may safely assume I have pawns, dice, colored discs, and other common tabletop components. I highly prefer 'light' or 'casual' games with a bit of crunch to them — favorites include Splendor or Fluxx — or moderately heavy games like Champions of Midgard.
In general, I'll aim to have some feedback for you within 2 weeks of receiving your game. I'm always open to partnerships and other sorts of arrangements — if you have something in mind, reach out and let's chat.
Please note that I will decline to sign NDA's. I have zero interest in ripping anyone off, and have plenty of my own ideas to develop. Thanks for your understanding.
Training & Qualifications
I'm a tabletop game designer. You haven't heard of me yet, but I do have a website for my works-in-progress at entrogames.com. I design games that can be setup and explained in just a few minutes, but are strategic / crunchy enough for gamers.
Availability & Preferences
Afternoons and evenings is when I'm at my computer.
