About Cameron Bloom Kruger

Cameron Bloom Kruger is the President/CEO for the Duluth Children's Museum and founder of Horizon Nonprofit Solutions, a consultancy focused on innovative communication strategies for community organi...zations. He is an avid techie, supporter of social causes, drinker of coffee (black please), and feline enthusiast. Raised in Duluth, Minnesota and having lived for some time in Bellingham, Washington, Cameron has had the opportunity to see almost every state in the U.S., as well as parts of Canada, and dreams of travelling overseas when time and finances allow. Having a father who owned a web design firm in the 90's meant growing up around servers and command line, leading to a lifetime passion for everything electronic. He can rig a Raspberry Pi to a series of buttons to play music or send tweets or play your favorite retro games, is a well regarded social media consultant, and has Frankensteined his share of computers for cheap performance. After serving two years in AmeriCorps as a Service Learning facilitator, Cameron developed a passion for nonprofit organizations and started his first job in the field as an Evaluation Specialist for the Duluth YMCA. He went on to oversee the True North AmeriCorps Program, was Program Manager for the regional funder Lake Superior Initiative, and continued a career at the Y as Human Resources Director and eventually Chief Information Officer, overseeing Human Resources, Technology, and Marketing for the second largest Y system in Minnesota. As a consultant and founder of Horizon Nonprofit Solutions, Cameron has worked with nonprofits of all sizes, small business, schools, government agencies, and political campaigns with the primary focus of innovative technology and messaging. He has built grassroots social campaigns, turning networks of 50 people into thunderclaps of thousands.
