30 Minute Iaido Basics Instruction
10
Loosely translated "the art of the draw", Iaido is a Japanese martial art focused on balance and precision. Emphasis is placed on awareness and the quick draw of the katana from its saya (scabbard). Iaido's emphasis on mental focus and precision can also apply to other areas of life.
I have studied Iaido for just over a year, spending the majority of the training time honing the basics. Lessons of this nature are not intended to replace dojo attendance. Rather, this can be a good supplement or introduction.
Training & Qualifications
I have trained in Iaido for just over a year. Service would entail proper hand positioning, draw technique, the five sword positions, and the first kata. I also have studied Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and Aikido over the past 8 years.
