About Andy Guerra
Do you need your own Geeky Linguist?
Phonetic transcriptions, language analysis, accessible and localized translations.
How do I know that it is accessible? Corpora. I use Mark Davies 'Corpus del Español´, and the Real Academia's CORPES and CREA. I will not only localize the text, but also make sure that it meets the in-house style guides, Ortografía 2010, and any educational standards (even when transdapted).
You want me to edit some of your translations, don't you? Let me know and I will.
Language and technology, where all the fun is happening.
In the language front I always wanted to be a philologist, but alas, philology programs are few and far between, so instead I made my own. How do you ask? I got a masters in Spanish Language and Literature, and another in Linguistics. I am living the dream.
As for technology, I stay on the software side unless I am attempting to link the latest gadget to language.
Specialties: Linguistics, Transcription, Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Computational Linguistics, TTS, NLP, Language and Technology, Spanish Language and Literature, Python, Editing, Assessments, Education, Research. At one I read AND understood Derrida; make of that what you will.
