Portrait Sketch by Faceblind Artist

30

30 per unit - Virtual OK

I'll sketch a person, preferably from a written description or left completely to my imagination, for you to use as character inspiration or just for fun to see how I interpret your written description of someone's face. Reference images are fine but remember, I'm faceblind! So it probably won't have a perfect likeness. I normally practice drawing faces with written prompts. I'm okay with drawing you or a friend or family member, but I'm warning now that it probably won't look exactly like them because I interpret faces differently than the average person.

I can use multiple colors but the best sketches are one or two colors.

Sketches can be large or small - one large sketch is 30 simbi, a small sketch is 15 simbi. A large sketch takes up half a page, while small sketches can be about 4-6 to a page - pricing is based on the average time it takes me to make one sketch, a small one takes half the time of a large one in my previous experience.

I can take a picture (with high quality daylight lighting) or I can scan it in and send you a fancy scanned image (but! You cannot trace my image or use my sketch in any way like that! Purely for inspiration or quick art, not to be used as a base sketch for your own art!)

I'm much better at femme and androgynous faces than masculine, though. I am trying to get better, but just be warned I tend to draw features softly and some more masculine faces don't really suit how I interpret them yet..

I am faceblind, which means I can see faces but I have a lot of trouble remembering them and instead I usually remember people based on distinctive features such as hair, skin tone, piercings, and any distinctive facial features (lots of freckles, for example). Because of this, I have to work extra hard to be able to draw faces, especially with a likeness to an actual person.

I may end up using the sketch for my Instagram and Facebook pages, a nd the rights to the actual sketch remain with me.. but of course, you can use the actual character I design for anything you wish.

Training & Qualifications

I'm faceblind and I want to practice drawing faces, and I'm also an artist so that makes me seemingly pretty qualified to be making portrait sketches by a faceblind artist.
Check my Instagram or Facebook page @ArtByTekoro for some not-cropped images of my face sketches.

Availability & Preferences

whenever, but I normally sketch in the morning to mid afternoon

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Andi Greynolds

I have recently finished a degree in linguistics. I have been conlanging (creating languages) since I was 15 and that's why I studied linguistics. I was on the dean's list for two years. I was pre...sident and founder of the knitting and crochet group at my university for all 4 years, so I knit and crochet frequently and I teach other people how to. I sell my knitted items on Etsy and my knitting patterns on Etsy and Ravelry (some are free on Ravelry!) My mom is an artist (polymer clay, origami, fine arts) and I take after her in that way. I love art. I paint (oils, acrylics, digital), knit, crochet, draw (digital, charcoal/conte, pencil), I do photography (iphone, fancy digital cameras, b&w film cameras, photograms, pinhole cameras), I create languages and writing systems (yes, that's art!), and many other media that I don't use as frequently, such as polymer clay, origami, and other miscellaneous crafts. I've studied 6 languages in school (Spanish, French, Latin, German, Chinese [Mandarin], and Japanese) and I'm trying to learn Cornish (Kernewek Kemmyn) right now because it's my heritage language and it was dead for around 100 years but was revived around 100 years ago, which makes learning it so much cooler. In fact, I even have a blog where I post words daily and will sometime soon (hopefully) get around to posting lessons and the like and integrating that with Memrise and Quizlet. I collect language and linguistics books (I currently own over 500!). I want to write novels that include my conlangs. That's pretty much my life goal. I retain the rights of everything I create unless I specifically state otherwise. Mostly this just means I can use what I make for you as examples of my work or I can sell items with it printed on from my zazzle shop (though I won't do that for names or anything too personal) Instagram: @ArtByTekoro Etsy: Tekoro Art Portfolio (in progress): TekoroPortfolio.tumblr.com Ravelry: Heylola2 Conlang tumblr (hasn't been updated much recently): heylola2s-conlangs.tumblr.com Cornish Blog: kernewek-kemmyn.tumblr.com Zazzle shop: zazzle.com/tekoro*show more
