Kumihimo Lesson

Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese technique of braiding. There are many kinds of braids, and limitless variations of pattern, colors, and number of strings. I will teach you 3-5 braids, depending on pace and comfort.
For the lesson, I will loan you my kumihimo disk, bobbins, and a weight for tension. You can bring embroidery floss or similar string, or I will give you some of mine to keep. If you want your own disk, bobbins, or tension weight, they are available for purchase online. In place of circular plastic bobbins, clothes pins work well, and I use a large fishing weight for tension.
