Pet Adoption Prep and Consult
25
Considering adopting a pet into your home? There are many factors to consider, from picking a good pet to preparing your home to setting up training or veterinary care. We will hash out the details and put you at ease. No adoption is without risk, but I can provide you with the knowledge to make informed decisions that are best for your situation. We may discuss:
-What species or breed fits your lifestyle
-Whether to go to a shelter or breeder
-How to pick a breeder
-How to avoid adopting a "lemon"
-How to prepare and care for your new pet
I can even meet you at done locations to help you with your search. NO GUARANTEES CAN BE MADE, but I can go over the pros and cons of particular animals and how to identify a behaviorally healthy pet.
Training & Qualifications
I have my Bachelor's degree in behavior analysis and many years animal training/behavior experience, in addition to many years working at an animal shelter. I am passionate about animal behavior and welfare and am always reading and educating myself on the latest research on training and behavior, body language/communication, animal welfare, and other similar topics. I'm also passionate about child-pet interactions and safety, especially bite prevention and education for kids and adults.
