I am a tutor for student athletes at the University of Delaware, and I teach a large range of classes. My degrees are in History and Political Science, but I routinely tutor students in the following:
Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, Trigonometry), English (Literary Analysis, Grammar, Creative Writing, Poetry), Science (Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Astronomy), Social Studies (Geography, Economics, Civics/Government, Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology), and some random other ones (Nutrition, Essay Revision, Leadership)
I started writing songs about 3 years ago, during my senior year of college. I started branching out from personal writings to protest songs and narratives a bit later. I love the energy and aggressiveness of punk rock, but my biggest lyrical inspirations come from hip-hop. I love varied rhyme structures and literary devices, and I get a lot of enjoyment out of juxtaposing ideas within songs. My musical taste is predominantly punk rock, but I enjoy at least one song from every genre. Favorite artists/ musical inspirations include: Bad Religion, Public Enemy, NOFX, Silverstein, The Wonder Years, Jasiri X, Bayside, Backwordz, and Frank Turner. I am also currently obsessed with the brilliance that is Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Hamilton" (Though I have no idea if I'm related)
I have served as a camp counselor, director, and guide, and I'm consistently on the lookout for new places to hike or camp. I have also worked as a 5th and 6th grade teacher, coaching both traditional-track as well as alternative/special education. I am a huge fan of Carl Sagan, and his book Cosmos profoundly shaped my life philosophy. The Pale Blue Dot is all we have right now, and it's my job to leave it better than I found it. I am always trying to learn new things, and pay that knowledge forward.
I am currently looking for book recommendations, art lessons, music producers, instrumentalists, hiking tips, travel advice, financial tips, organization strategies, foreign language lessons, American Sign Language lessons, and really anything that you think is interesting.
