Cosplaying on a budget? I make eight dollars an hour. I know what you mean. I can make you a cosplay budget spreadsheet, my friend, including wigs, fabric/costume buying price, trip planning if you're attending a convention. This can be done over Google Sheets, Give me the details and I will curate you some organisation!
Training & Qualifications
I've been cosplaying for four years and making props just about as long. From Jack Frost's staff to a mini Calcifer in a pot (Howl's Moving Castle), I know props. I've dyed costumes and wigs, cut, trimmed, and styled around foam. I've made costumes from scratch and sewn/velcroed/hot glued alterations. As a cosplayer, I'll stop at nothing to get a costume done in time for con, including but not limited to staying up until four AM the night before, sewing in my hotel room the day of, buying the fabric six months in advance and waiting until two weeks before the convention to do anything with it, and ordering my wigs just barely early enough to style, put on a wig head, and shove in my suitcase for the con.
