About Tim George

I am a father of two, husband extraordinaire, and Freelance User Experience Designer & Researcher. I've worked in the service and construction industries for 6 and 7 years respectively as well as been... a farm laborer. I graduated from UC Irvine in 2009 with a Civil Engineering degree. After which I attended Bethel School of Ministry for 2 years. I married my first (and only) wife in 2011 and we have two beautiful children. After spending 3 years as a design engineer, and 2.5 years doing project management for a steel erection company I was ready to move forward from the construction industry. It's a challenging and rewarding industry to work in, I've just always had a soft spot for technology. I was trying to position myself within the industry to work with development and design when I applied and was accepted back into UCI; I joined the first cohort of their Masters in Human-Computer Interaction and Design (MHCID) program. I am currently doing some freelance work while I am in school as well as spending time learning as much as I can. I love to get to know people, who they are, why they are that way. I find the pace of life in SoCal a little too fast and impersonal for my liking (I grew up, on a farm, in a small town in Central California). I would love to slow down a bit and get to know some other like minded people. Can't wait to get to know you guys out there who feel the same way!show more
