30 Minute Writing Tutoring HS+

I offer 30 minute tutoring sessions for academic writing (any subject) at the high school level or above. During a session we will work on proficiency in areas that will most improve your writing: grammar and punctuation, essay organization, developing a thesis, improving writing style, citing sources and creating a bibliography, strengthening arguments, or any combination of these. I am proficient in the MLA and Chicago/Turabian citation styles and am familiar with APA. Writing tutoring should not be confused with proof reading. Tutoring sessions can be stacked up to one hour.
Training & Qualifications
I am currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland. I am in a dual degree program, working on my Master of Arts in history and Master of Library Science. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with honors in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and minor in English literature. While at Texas Wesleyan I worked as a writing and history tutor in the university tutoring center for a year and a half, but my tutoring experience dates back to 2012 when I began privately tutoring geometry, calculus, and college algebra. Currently, I am working as a communications graduate assistant for the University of Maryland's Division of Research, and a portion of my job includes writing news articles and press releases about research and innovation happening at the university.
