I love the idea of exchanging service for service and depending on the power of community over the value of the dollar. I believe that we can thrive if we come together, helping each other to achieve our visions.
I have a passion for designing beautiful things. My love of floristry began when I was a teenager. One of my first jobs was as shop-help in my step-mom's family business. I scrubbed buckets, chopped f...lowers, and mopped floors, but also fully immersing myself in the trade. Established in the 1950s by her parents, my step-mom's shop had a long, successful history and we were well-known for our quality of work. I established myself as the wedding expert and assumed managerial responsibilities. My desire to use my skills to build a community developed early, and i volunteered to serve as Secretary of Teleflora Idaho-Utah's Board of Directors, planning educational events to grow the skills of florists in the community and brightening the spirits of those around us by organizing charitable events. Eventually my family sold the shop as they relocated, and I decided to branch off on my own, with the blessing of my family in 2015, focusing on weddings, funerals, and events. I'm constantly challenging myself to grow as a designer, immersing myself in the industry through social media, educational events, and networking with other florists. My goal as a designer is to both fit your vision and your budget. In addition to my skills as a florist, I'm an excellent instructor, and can teach floral design, public speaking, presentation skills, instructional design, and project management. With a Masters in Business Administration (graduating May, 2017) and experience as a board member for multiple charitable organizations, I am proficient in project management and instructional design.
