I scout for startups and also manage my own startups incubation programme. I have a scouting mandate from a few venture capital funds which look for startups satisfying certain criteria. However, having performed some research I concluded that there is a market segment which is either underserved or not served at all. This is startups not satisfying the set of selection criteria designed to spot potential "unicorn" startups.
As a result, I have constructed among other a startups incubation programme that removes barrier to entry and provides support without taking equity or employing exclusive selection criteria.
