Basic knife cutting skills: veggies

I will teach you how to properly hold a knife and your vegetables to reduce the risk of cutting yourself; as well as techniques such as dicing and julienne. You'll also learn proper knife care & sharpening techniques. And a few tricks of the trade to add some visual flair to your veggies!
The lesson will last one hour. Please provide your knife or knives so that we can discuss their proper uses and which one is ideal for this demonstration; as well as a peeler and your choice of knife sharpener.
You will also need 1 each: bell pepper, onion, carrot & cucumber. As well as 2 small packs of fresh herbs: basil & parsley. If you have a specific fruit or vegetable that you are unsure how to peel or cut, bring it too!
Training & Qualifications
I am a professional cook with 10 years of experience in both cooking and restaurant & kitchen management. I prefer to cook from scratch but am able to get creative & use whatever is on hand. And I am quite knowledgeable in areas of food allergies and restrictions such as gluten free, diabetic, paleo, vegan and vegetarian diets.
Availability & Preferences
My schedule varies but I am usually free in the mornings between 9am - 11am
