I can use my internet connection and my working PC to fix yours. It's up to you to decide what to do ultimately, but I will only recommend you do things that look trustworthy (to me) or things I have used before. We can discuss and you can use your best judgement. I will use professional websites (microsoft) and/ or results where I can see what actually happens (youtube), or look to "comment verification" from many people. I will tell you the source of my information (e.g. the website), and if you're not comfortable with the source of information or the comments, that's fine, we don't have to do anything you're uncomfortable with. Some proceedures may be relatively risk free, others may be riskier. I can explain some of the risks and assess how you might recover from any undesireable effects. The best way to ensure recovery is knowing what you did and how to un-do it. But if you have more than one PC, for example, you might be feeling more adventurous troubleshooting one PC with the other. If your problem is outside of my comfort zone, I can at least point you in the right direction with some information relevant to your problem.
