I am a professional patient. So far 33 surgeries. I have come through all of it with a positive attitude and the skills to help others navigate the often frustrating medical systems. I used to lead support groups for National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI ) . I have also helped out family members when they were ill. No matter what you, or someone you love, are dealing with having someone there to help you get through takes some of the stress out of the situation
