Exquisite Handmade Cards

10

10 per unit - - Posted Apr 11, 2019

I use a sewing machine and hand-stitching to create one-of-a-kind cards for elegant occasions. This is something I did because I enjoyed the process of fusing relevant text/poetry, various textures of (mostly German or Japanese) papers, fabrics, pressed botanicals, and installing pockets for cash/gift card enclosure and was delighted when my friends gushed over the uniqueness and attention to detail; they've really been a hit!
My background in the arts lends to material knowledge, my jobs in archives and art conservation lend to serious hand skills and precision, and the way my heart works lends to creating something that will make your loved one want to give you a huge hug, or at the very least be impressed ;)
~~
You would let me know the event, and whether you have a basic concept like color, vibe, special detail, scent preference, etc.
I'd prefer 5 days advance notice, but this could be workable.
In terms of getting it to you, I work downtown and live in inner SE so to avoid postage fees, I'd prefer to just hand it to you (especially if your design is delicate). Obviously, the mail is also an option.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Rachel Howard

It's funny, just a couple of weeks ago I found an ancient Portland Timebank signup form and as I waited to hear back, I got an invite to this - YAY! Basically the same thing except this one...I dunn...o, works? ;P This type of interaction warms my heart...helpful, merit based, creative, collaborative, and it empowers communities. Not to mention you can get to know your neighbors in meaningful ways that don't involve online dating - I'm kidding (I'm not kidding). show more
