I'm an artist turned designer turned entrepreneur. I started an ethical fashion and sustainable fashion label (tonlé - tonle.com) in Cambodia 9 years ago and now travel back and forth between the Bay Area and Cambodia. Through running a business I picked up a number of skills in addition to fashion design; I've done quite a bit of styling for photography (fashion and food...long story!) As well as interior boutique design (I've opened 5 retail stores) and graphic design. I still do quite a bit of painting and illustration for fun. I can make clothing but I probably wouldn't do it for a trade, but I'm open to a range of other creative work and consultations.
Recently I've been getting a number of requests from designers looking for help and feedback on starting an ethical/sustainable/eco fashion business. Because I've spent 10 years in the space and have a limited amount of time available, I have had to start putting a value on my time, but rather than charge for consulting I'm offering that service here on Simbi in order to contribute to the community here. I'm happy to trade that service directly for deals that contribute to tonlé - or for Simbi.
Some of the things that I am always looking for are: models, photographers, creative contributors, bloggers, videographers, administrators, and designers. If you want to propose a project that incorporates any of those things related to tonlé, let me know! I'm also happy to trade for clothing - check out what we have on our site.
