An Exploration of the Night Sky
25
I have held amateur Astronomy as a hobby and interest for a very long time, since I was a young child the stars have been a source of beauty and fascination for me! My parents gave me the gift of my first telescope for christmas one year, it was a small newtonian reflector. In the design of a reflector telescope, light enters into the tube and is reflected by a mirror at the bottom of the mirror case. This light is returned towards the opening, but is reflected by a second mirror that is slanted towards the lens at a 45 degree angle. Then the light from this mirror passes through the lens which flips and magnifies the image of the observed object and this is the image that the eye sees. Now with this service I will provide you an opportunity to use this kind of telescope to see some of the planets and stars and other heavenly things on a night when the sky is clear of any clouds. It will be very interesting! I will share with you what I know about the universe and the stars and the planets and the galaxies that we will encounter in our exploration of the night sky.
