Explain technology to Grandparents
Are you the go-to technical help for your grandparents because you have a cellphone and were born after they stopped needing punch cards for computers? Is it infuriating and exhausting for you to explain how email works for your grandparents? Tired of them asking what an 'emoji' is?
Have no fear, Nick is here!
I will explain to your grandparents how to do one computer based task in simple, easy to follow instructions. Complete with screen captures! These instructions will be printable and easy to follow, so they can keep the instructions on hand and you don't need to continue to answer the same questions!
Simply tell me the question and I'll set up a simple word document for you to print out to your elderly relative and...finito! You're on your way.
While I won't boast a complete computer knowledge, I am very knowledgeable in how to use computers and have the knowledge to "Explain it like I'm five" for seniors or luddites!
Training & Qualifications
I worked as a librarian for over a year and part of my graduate work was librarians and technology. More often than not, being the owner of a smart phone, I am called upon by parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles to explain technology. I am also a writer, so I have a lot of experience in expressing ideas clearly.
Availability & Preferences
Week nights, weekends and the occasional morning. I can normally do a turn around in a week, but two weeks are preferred.
