Learn to Improvise on the Violin

Like many violists, I started out playing classical music and being expected to follow the sheet music and just do what the composer told me. I was totally intimidated the first time I had to "improvise" - or create music of my own. But once I got past my nerves and discovered some tricks and tools - playing music for myself, that I created, was an amazing and liberating journey.
I want to take you on that same journey. Playing while you are creating your own music can seem intimating at first, but I believe I have found a way to break it down into simple steps that make it both easy and fun.
I use games, yoga, and a variety of methods to teach the basic techniques you would get from the Suzuki method to empower your own musical voice. I use a patient, student-honoring, fun style of teaching that nourishes and renews the natural creativity I believe is present in everyone.
In person lessons are recommended if you are in the area, but I am available on Skype as well .
Training & Qualifications
I've been teaching violin for about 7 years, to people from a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, learning styles, and personality types. I am a certified Suzuki teacher, but make use of a wide variety of other methods as well.
