in project: Bioremediation Digital Library

5 for fulfilling my request - Virtual OK - Posted Oct 15, 2021

We are looking for bioremediation research papers for constructing our digital library which can be found at https://www.metamimicry.com/library/ Examples can be found there as well.
Right now the library is divided into the different subsections of Fungi, Bacteria, Plants, and Animals (the organism) and within each of those is Soil, Water, Air, and Other (the environment that is being remediated) as well as Multi-Species remediation with two or more species. The format may change, but all the research will be able to be utilized for people interested in this new and evergrowing field! We will offer 5 simbi per research paper contribution (as long as it isn't already on there). You can submit the research via the comment board on our Bioremediation Digital Library Project or by emailing me jade (at) metamimicry.com

About Metamimicry

Metamimicry is a newly-formed environmental nonprofit operating out of Olympia, Washington. We work to serve tribes, non-profits, small governments, and businesses in the Puget Sound region. Our aim i...s to, whenever possible, utilize pre-existing infrastructure to restore the environment’s ability to remediate soil, water, and air. We pursue funding for our partners primarily through grants, allowing us to research, design, and implement solutions at little to no cost to them. We will work to advance grassroots bioremediation methods through a research-centric approach. Together we support, enhance, and inspire remediation efforts through the incorporation of research and reporting into grassroots remediation projects, improving the long-term sustainability of this work. We are particularly concerned with stormwater pollutants affecting our native salmon populations, a keystone species both culturally and ecologically. Recent research in the region indicates a tire-chemical responsible for pre-spawn mortality syndrome in Coho salmon during storm events. As concerned citizens and scientists, we have been empowered to bring together our skills and knowledge in water quality, mycology, environmental chemistry, science communication, grant writing, and biomimetic design to find simple solutions to some of the Puget Sound’s most pressing environmental problems.show more
