Mental Health Resources
I live in the Edmonton area and I have Mental Health First Aid training, which means that I can help direct you to organizations and programs geared towards your concerns. If you need something and you don't know where to start, I can help you pinpoint what you're looking for at a time that may be particularly overwhelming.
I am familiar with several different resources and often use the Edmonton Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) website as a starting point, They have direct services including a distress line and the online crisis chat. They also provide other information such as 211 resource lists and community resources which include:
-Holiday and year round meals
-Basic needs
-Family violence & abuse
-Anger management
-Children
-Indigenous peoples,
-2SLGBTQ+
-Newcomers to Canada
-People with disabilities
-People with addictions
-Youth & young adults at risk
-Youth & young adults
-Seniors & older adults
-Pregnancy & new parents
-Parents & caregivers
-Men

Please note that I cannot provide professional counselling or therapy. If you feel that you or a loved one is in immediate danger or may hurt themselves or some one else, please call 911.
