Advice Session About Snake Keeping

I will gladly answer any questions you may have about being a first-time snake owner. This consultation will vary widely depending on what kind of snake you have, how old they are and so on. I keep all colubrids myself (corn and king snakes, gopher snakes and hognose) and have had no personal experience with Boids such as anacondas or boa constrictors.
I cannot give advice on breeding, as I am not a breeder and only keep snakes because I adore them. I also do not own dangerous venomous snakes so I haven't any experience keeping those either. (Though take some free advice... Do not keep venomous snakes unless you've had a lifetime of experience or work for zoos.) My hognose is up to debate, as they do have rear fangs, however their "venom" only causes a mild allergic reaction in most people, causing the hand or arm to swell for a few days. (My hoggie is a sweetheart though!)
Training & Qualifications
I've kept a variety of snake species for close to 8 years now. I have a Mexican Black King Snake, 2 Corn Snakes, a Gopher Snake and a Western Hognose. I would have a lot more if I had more space! I've experienced a lot during my years of keeping snakes and have advice on feeding, enclosures, shedding and so on.
I CANNOT GIVE HEALTH OR VETERINARY ADVICE. I am not a certified vet or vet tech, but I can gladly point you to an exotic veterinarian if you happen to live within the Sacramento area.
