Editing

20

20 per hour - Virtual OK - Posted Sep 02, 2021

I’m an avid editor.
I love to sniff and cut and re-order and re-organize. I’m not much of a teacher but I’ve been told I’m a very good writer. I edit a newspaper that includes mostly letters from prisoners and they almost always express appreciation in my editing. In other words I feel like I am able to pick up on the essence of what they are saying and make it more clear.

I have never edited professionally although I did help one friend edit his autobiography. So I’m a little new at this but I really enjoy editing and want to give it a shot.

Training & Qualifications

I grew up with my father editing everything I wrote with a red pen. I think him for my writing skills. Also my formal education. I have a masters in social work, which required a great deal of writing. Also I have been editing a newspaper for the last five years or so. And I have assisted with the editing of one book.
