I am a passionate educator, aspiring entrepreneur and curious mind. My life revolves around conversing with others, learning and growing as I constantly strive to be a better listener and version of myself. My strongest interests lie of the cusp of neuroscience, philosophy, education and technology!
I currently work for AmeriCorps VISTA at a STEM-education nonprofit in Denver, CO. I help out where needed, working on our Operations Manual, implementing a career exploration program and developing fundraising strategies. In March, 2018, I will be finishing up my term with AmeriCorps and strive to pursue other meaningful work in and around Denver!
Just wanted to share a little tidbit on a thought I've been having a lot recently, especially after I started using Simbi:
Nowadays, for those who wish to make a large positive impact on the world, an underlying question seems to be: How do we leverage the power of technology for social entrepreneurship?
I try to come up with new answers to that question every day, but I also want to find ways to retain the power of human connection that comes only from pure interaction. To me, connection is a mystery because it's effects are unscientific, sporadic and unmatched --- people talk about love, friendship, family and gratitude as abstract concepts. I believe there is a thread that intertwines these feelings, one that serves as the lowest common denominator, providing ground for the limitless power that comes through connecting with others.
So, I ask a slightly different question: How can we leverage the power of human-to-human interaction to create meaningful solutions to some of the most daunting problems? I love speaking and thinking about grassroots efforts, advocacy, and community-support efforts.
I am always down for a conversation (on just about anything), so please reach out!
