I'm a jack of all trades and master of none. I have a variety of mental health problems and firmly believe that there are positive aspects to most of them and choose to find ways to exploit the positive sides to some sort of benefit - even if the benefit is not tangible. I believe this gives me a unique view of life, culture, and society - but then again, maybe I'm just delusional... ;) I have boundless curiosity but limited attention span, so I know a lot about a few things and a little about most things. I have a massive rescue cat who is ornery, lazy, and stubborn but through much patience and positive reinforcement I have taught him to use the toilet instead of a litter box and to ring a bell for treats.
I have a Masters Degree in Cognitive Psychology and Cultural Anthropology, I know HTML, CSS, Flash, a decent amount of R, a bit of PHP and Java, and take actual pleasure in playing with Excel (it does a lot more than just make spreadsheets...). I've lived in Minnesota (too cold in the winter, too many mosquitoes in the summer), Arkansas (too hot and not enough free thinkers), Colorado (no complaints), and for 1 year in Belfast, Northern Ireland (The best year of my life - If I could I would move there permanently).
I've worked as a cart pusher for Walmart, a gun painter for a custom gun shop, a census taker, a web designer, a folk craft maker, a helper in a custom cabinet shop, an auto parts salesman, a Mental Health Practitioner helping children, a photo editor, a graphic designer, a tutor, and a gas station attendant.
