I will talk to you about chickens, best breed for your goal, using your space wisely, the pros and cons of free-ranging vs fencing. Diet, treats, water! What about roosters? Do you need one? Would you want one? How many eggs would you get? And don't forget the benefits of chicken therapy! Mainly I'll answer your questions for your situation.
Training & Qualifications
I have had chickens for 8 years. I've had them free range, fenced, and chicken-tractored. I have fed them a variety of things, and I get chicks and raise them too. I've had a variety of roosters, and I've lost a flock to coyotes. I've even nursed two chickens back to health: one after a coyote attack and the other with a broken leg.
