My Story Originally from Australia, Jake was inspired by the laid back mountain sports scene he experienced while travelling and working in New Zealand. This fuelled his lifelong passion for mounta...in sports and teaching, and in 2019 he moved to Vancouver’s ‘North Shore’ in search of a bigger arena. As an avid Mountain Biker he enjoys personal exploration and growth through his adventures. An ideal ride for Jake starts with a 'friendly' climbing trail, and a healthy mix of tech and flow, winding down towards one of the many great local breweries. COACH Jake is a Professional Mountain Bike Instructor and Guide who works with all kinds of interesting clients, from pure beginners all the way to race-ready athletes, throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor in BC. As a big believer in having a growth mindset, Jake thrives when coaching clients in the mental arena.Years of ‘on-trail’ experience with one of Canada’s leading MTB instruction companies has helped him hone in on the skills required to accurately assess and develop an athlete's Physical and Technical ability, before coaching them through any Psychological barriers they may be facing. Always on the lookout for new fields of study and self improvement, he has recently completed the 'Science of Wellbeing' with Yale University. ADVENTURER When he isn't out on the hill coaching or riding his bike, Jake spends his time mixing it up with all kinds of Hiking, Camping, Climbing and Snowboarding escapades. Going back and forth between different mountain sports and at times truly being a beginner again, grants him the luxury of being able to understand the experiences we have out there, through other peoples lenses. show more
