I believe that what you see is what you get. That being said I don't think the commonly accepted view of God is intelligent or even advisable. That doesn't mean prayer can't be a part of our lives. Prayer is extremely important when you realize two things. One: the entity/ies you are praying to are real, living things and two: don't ask for too much.
Training & Qualifications
I have been an agnostic since I was 12. I never thought they could really have prayer until I opened my mind to the idea that such a powerful feeling couldn't come from simple nonsense. It can help both therapeutically and due to the inherent value that prayer holds. Ask me and I'll explain more about the concept :) ✌
