Tonal music transcription
27
Do you have a favorite piece of music that you'd like to learn? I will listen to a tonal piece of music of your choice and notate it in an appropriate, legible way. If needed, I will work with you to arrive at a notation scheme suited to your particular brain—chord symbols, Roman numerals, transpositions for transposing instruments, note names, experimental notation schemes such as Sagittal or Carrillo or Hummingbird—I'm open to it all.
Traditional tonal music with functional harmony is easiest for me; I will consider attempting something entirely non-tonal, or with complex jazz harmonies...but it may take longer =)
Note: The 27-simbi-per-"unit" quote is per minute of music.
Training & Qualifications
I have worked as a transcriptionist and arranger for Divisi Strings; many samples of my arrangements are listed on their Youtube page.
I have near-perfect pitch (absolute pitch) and excellent relative pitch, as well as extensive training in the discernment of microtones. This means that nothing is off limits — if you're looking to see visually a vocalist's every subtle nuance, we can make that happen.
