About Helena Weiss-Duman, PMP
Helena Weiss-Duman, M.A., PMP, has more than 20 years of event management experience in industry, academia, and nonprofit settings.
She is trusted consultant to multiple organizations and a popular speaker at conferences, seminars and workshops such as Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE), Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I), the Special Events Conference, and the Academic Event Professional (AEP). She's been an educator since 2005, having taught dozens of classes in event planning, project management, and fund raising at UC Berkeley Extension, Chabot College, and the Berkeley Events Network.
She has received numerous awards including: the Outstanding Staff Award from UC Berkeley for her work on the Chancellor Inauguration; the CASE Gold Circle of Excellence: Event Category for the UC Berkeley Campaign for a New Century kick-off event; Advanced Communicator-Bronze Toastmaster from Toastmasters International; and Outstanding Campaign Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
She has a bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations and minors in marketing and sociology from CSU, Long Beach, where she graduated cum laude and was presented the Outstanding Journalism Student of the Year upon graduation. She earned a master's in sociology from CSU, East Bay and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
