I will sit with your elderlyloved loved one while you run errands or get a couple of hours respite for yourself. I work part time in a nursing home run by one of the most respected Hospitals on the east coast, Riverside. I am well versed with patients of the Alzheimer's and Dementia type. And if I'm being perfectly honest, I really do enjoy sitting and visiting with them and hearing everything they have to say and all the advice they have to offer! My grandmother needed hospice herself for a while, and I always admired those that came in to give our family a little break. Of course, because of my grandmother's illnesses with dementia and Alzheimer's, that is also where I learned the most and gained the most empathy for this job. These are people. Whether they remember who they are or not at times doesn't matter. They're people and they need to be cared for and loved!
Training & Qualifications
I am Alzheimer's and Dementia patient trained as well as CPR and first aid trained through Riverside Hospital where I work part time. I have also taken infant CPR and have started my medical assistant courses as well. So I'm well versed on the terminology needed and the care and type of patience needed too.
Availability & Preferences
Early mornings, evenings, and every other weekend.
