About Freda Collins

I started from the bottom as a Volunteer with the Attleboro Public Schools District when I was just a High School student there. By means of my strong work ethic, tenacity, determination, and nurturin...g abilities due to my deep emotional intelligence, I was able to grow my skill set. From there I was able to work my way to becoming a world-class Nanny and Household Manager. However, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, “Life is a journey not a destination” and this has been a long-standing perspicacity of mine throughout the maturation of my career. Thankfully, when I was sidelined from my intended career path due to the rupture of my appendix, I learned further valuable skills in corporate and retail settings that I am now able to apply to my occupation as a House Manager. Constantly learning and adapting so as to remain intuitive, I am self-taught in many areas. These include teaching myself basic Russian (which I learned to communicate with a bilingual toddler.) When it comes to dietary needs I have learned how to strictly adhere to a Kosher diet, became OSHA Serve-Safe trained, have experience working with vegetarian, vegan, and common allergen avoidance diets (such as dairy, nuts, shellfish, etc.) These reasons, along with my deep care for my profession, has been the reason why I have a one hundred percent satisfaction rating among the backup care parents whose children I provide care for through New Wave, and am requested back by name. My greatest goal in my work is to be the person I needed when I was younger. When children conquer things they haven’t previously been able to do with my assistance and scaffolding integration those are moments of pride for all involved.
