Advice on computer music rigs

Are you thinking about doing some computer music recording or composing? I have 25 years of experience recording with midi and computers. I will give you some general advice on what you might or might not need for your project. This service does not include teaching you how to use the stuff, though. : )
Training & Qualifications
- Degree in Peforming Arts Technology from University of Michigan.
- Extensive experience using pc's & macs with a variety of midi and audio interfaces, on desktops as well as notebooks, synths, a few alternative midi controllers.
- Have used Logic, Pro Tools, Reason, Samplitude, Ableton Live, Reaper
Availability & Preferences
weeknights except for Tuesday, and most weekends are flexible during the day
