I'm an American expat living in the UK. I've been here over 20 years and consider it my home. I like quirky things, including people! However, I admit to preferring cats to humans.

I have a variety of interests and expertise. I've been involved in historical reenactment for over 25 years. Such a hobby lends itself to learning to sew, weave, spin and illuminate. I've fought with steel museum replica weapons when I participated in Viking and Saxon reenactment. History has always been an interest, and I'm sure I'll find people here who also find it as fascinating. If only we could learn from our collective past. In order to charge with confidence into the future together.

I enjoy gardening, baking, cooking and keeping up with the latest television programmes. I know a great deal about English Literature and the English language. I'm fairly good at giving advice, but I'm not offering that as a service, since I think advice is a gift. You either take it or leave it. And most people know what they want to do before they ever approach you to ask for any.

I'm curious about Simbi and look forward to learning more about this community; and hopefully, earn my own place within it. What I don't understand is why this profile needs to be so long? I mean, it's got to be another three hundred words, and I'm sort of out of things to say about myself, because I'm new here and I don't think I need to say so much about myself in order to improve my profile. But then, I suppose if everyone else has done this, then it makes sense to also conform. But then, I've never really been a 'joiner'. I wonder what my cats are getting up to at home. I bet they're sleeping and napping the day away, the lucky devils. If reincarnation is real, I totally want to come back as my own cat!
