About Deidre Fereday
I love permaculture because it melds my strong affinity and knowledge of current issues around food sovereignty with sustainability! During my PDC training, I learned how we can reverse the destruction we have created on the environment through holistic land management and setting limits for consumption and material values. Through education and communication, we can reverse the negative effects of pollution and decrease social injustices at the same time to create a better future for the following generations.
I would love to bring all communities back to their roots by educating them where their food actually comes from and getting them back in touch with nature. Furthermore, we need to reinvent the social fabric and reemploy essential community functions! That means investing in local economic restoration, youth programs, growing our own food, and much more.
The value I would bring to your organization is a dedicated compassion for ecological restoration, community development and sustainability with an interest in generating these on a global scale.
My BS in Environmental Design, workshop in Grow BioIntensive and certificates in Community-Based Development and Permaculture design shows my love for education and creating a sustainable food web. I am and organized and enthusiastic person who values collaborating with coworkers in finding fresh ideas that can provide a different solution to the reoccurring problems of mass consumerism.
Permaculture is a revolution disguised as gardening :)
