Grew up watching Dragon Ball on illegal VHS.
Sent to 9 years of Japanese Saturday school, called Asahi Gakuen in Pasadena.
Father was a sushi chef!
Brother was a Mini 4WD champ!
Minored in Japanese, and even took courses that proved to be too hard for most Japanese majors. Class consisted of me, native Japanese speakers, and a few Chinese and white kids that were hardcore.
Just tried the online JLPT N3 sample and scored 15 out of 17, both were kanji mistakes, got 100% on the reading and listening comprehension. Kanji is my achilies heel. http://www.jlpt.jp/samples/forlearners.html
