My family lives near Ottawa, Canada and my goal is to live as sustainably and independently as possible. I am slowly transitioning to this goal with the intent to be living off grid within 10 years.

For example, to prepare ourselves to living with a solar panel system, my family has decreased our electricity use to 1/3 of the average in our area.

I have a BA in Environmental Studies and an certified in permaculture design, a system of sustainable design based on ecological principles.

I also helped co-found a local environmental non profit group to raise awareness of sustainable living.
