My first encounter with coaching really did change my life.
Before coaching, I was working for a wilderness adventure therapy program guiding and mentoring young adults which, on paper was my dream job. However, I was working with clients who weren’t really ready to change. The job was demanding of my time, was not challenging me in the right ways, and there were no opportunities for me to grow in the company. I felt stuck; I was desperate for a change and without a plan, I quit my job.
I spent some time unemployed and started feeling totally lost. It was important for me to stay in the profession of helping others grow and be awesome but I needed to be able to do it in my own special way. I thought I may be a good fit for Life Coaching but I had no clue where to start. In order to learn more about becoming a coach, I called one myself and then BOOM! Life changed!... just kidding.
It took a lot of hard work! and it was a painful process at times but I always felt supported, inspired, and challenged by my coach in the most exciting ways possible. It provided the next step for me and a direction that I couldn’t wait to take. My coach listened and gave me full permission to express my wants and needs and together we came up with a plan.
Today, I am proud to call myself a trained professional coach. I enjoy supporting and pushing others beyond their current bounds. I love challenging people to overcome fears and take risks. My experience, skills, and knowledge combined with clients strong desires to make an impact in their life are what allows for really cool work to unfold. We will set goals that you never thought imaginable and you will meet them. I am thrilled to make it my life's work to be a part of that.
