My name is Christopher Bourland. I hail from the greater St. Louis area, but currently reside in the Pacific Northwest. As an Artist and Musician. I am attempting to break down walls and barriers in communication, and convey information in a manner that I believe to be universally beneficial for my brothers and sisters, through art and music. As I am still on my way up, I am hugely experimental and learning on a daily basis, trying to seamlessly blend my influences, and my perspective, to culminate in a soundscape that transcends genre and tags. I want to continue pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable, and what is sought, what is uncomfortable, and what is serene. 2017 is aiming to be the biggest, most productive, and inspiring year of my life to date. Just past Saturn Return, and rooted in motivation and teeming with creative drive, I am ready to share my perspective with the world.
For the majority of my childhood, I was aspiring to become a professional Motocross rider, with a lot of ambition. When I was 17, a crash that put me in a wheelchair ultimately ended my career in Racing. Among the many lessons I learned, and live my life by, is an insatiable desire to keep pushing, no matter what. Every time I start to get comfortable, it means I am capable of even more than I had previously thought. I have grown to learn to walk a line, just a tiny bit further than what I thought was possible, and I have always come to learn, I am capable of that next level. I have now learned to translate that into art and music, and I see things like Amon Tobin's ISAM, and Android Jones Samskara, and I only want to see what I can do to push further, to raise the bar for the future artists and producers.
As a father of two, everything I do, is to eventually pass to my children, in the form of knowledge, and perspective, as well as tools, and equipment. After a couple years of being a parent, and an artist, I have come to understand that my position in the universe, is that of a teacher, and effective communication, and a language barrier free, universal means of sharing perspective is absolutely crucial.
If you are as excited as I am about the future of music, art, me, you, the world, the universe, or anything else, please, reach out, lets connect. I am completely open to collaborations, communications, critiques, compliments, or any other questions you may have.
Lastly, Thank you for your presence in this plane of existence. The universe, and I, are happy you came.
