Chris Trump is a passionate farm owner who has dedicated himself to the practice of Korean Natural Farming (KNF). KNF is an elegant method in which people work alongside nature to grow food. He was inspired to explore this practice several years ago after a massive crop failure due to exhaustive farming practices, and began studying under Master Cho Han-kyu in order to learn more about the plants and land he was working with. In 2010, Chris put Korean Natural Farming to the test. Traditionally in KNF, the farming is done on a small scale and Chris challenged this idea by slowly increasing the acreage in which he utilized this practice. Chris is now solely using KNF on his 800 acre macadamia nut tree farm, and in turn, the land, soil, and plants have regained their full health and provide more than ever before.
Today, Chris offers instructional videos via YouTube on all aspects of Korean Natural Farming. He also hosts classes in which agricultural members from all backgrounds can learn an alternative, beneficial, and profitable way of working with the land to grow food. One of his goals is to ensure that the knowledge he shares about working with the land, and microbiology therein, can be easily passed down to the next generation. Chris is heading a large movement that’s leading towards awareness in how people are growing food, taking care of the land, and creating lasting health both of plants and people. He envisions healthful, sustainable, and environmentally suitable farming in all areas and is working hard to make his vision reality.
