Whether you consider yourself a beginner or a professional, everyone's art can benefit from the fresh perspective of another person's eyes. As a K-12 Certified Art Teacher, I am able to cater toward a range of skill levels and offer the optimal advice for your level of proficiency. I would love to help you with your artwork by offering unbiased, helpful feedback regarding any piece of original artwork

In short, I will happily review an emailed image of your artwork, and offer personalized, constructive feedback over:

- Current strengths in your artwork that are already working very well.

- Areas on which to focus for improvement, and why.

- Advice on how to achieve the desired effect, mood, or impact from your artwork.

I can also offer brief advice over techniques, or suggest beneficial books and resources for further self-guided assistance, if desired.

Training & Qualifications

I graduated from SFASU with a B.A. in Art Education, and am a Texas Certified Art Teacher. My speciality lies in two-dimensional design and traditional medias; including illustration, painting, collage, print-making, photography and digital photo-manipulation.

Availability & Preferences

I'm usually free after 5pm (central time) and on Saturdays.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

About Chelsea McCalla

I am an artist, a teacher, a Christian, a feminist, and a member of the LBGT+ community. I struggle with ADHD, so please bare with me should the symptoms arise in our interactions. That being said, I ...will only take on a service request if I know I can accomplish it in a timely manner with everything else that is going on in my life. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but I would rather not make a promise on which I am unable to follow through. Professionally, I hold a Texas Teaching Certificate for K-12 Art, and I have been teaching full-time since 2014. It is a challenging and often thankless career path, but honestly, it's the best job in the world. Working with my kiddos, introducing them to new artistic ideas, and seeing them take off and forging their own artistic path...there are no words to describe how proud and amazed they leave me. Artistically, I am predominantly a two-dimensional artist that focuses on painting, illustration, figure-drawing, and photography. I am also a poet and a writer, and am presenting collaborating on a novella with my best friend. If I'm not creating through visual means, then I can be found knitting, rearranging my apartment, or in the kitchen being a foodie and craft beer nut. Personally, I am super nerdy and quirky. I love exploring all things history. I'm a long-time table top gamer - D&D and WhiteWolf, mostly. I play YuGiOh with my boyfriend, with whom I frequent conventions and do cosplay. I truly love my fandoms, and am a Hufflepuff Browncoat to the end. I view life as an adventure, with countless opportunities to learn new things, try new dishes and craft beers, and make new friends. I look forward to where this new journey will lead me.show more
