Catherine Wynder is a classically trained American electronic-dubstep violinist and violist, inspired by Lindsey Stirling. She also has a teaching studio since 2009 and hosts recitals, chamber ensembl...e parties, and distributes violins to her students. She comes from a musical family and attended the Manhattan School of Music for her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and has been a free-lance musician in a New York City since 2009. Until recently, she has only performed many years as a classical violinist and violist for weddings, parties, religious services, studio work, and countless events. Since Catherine learned how to use Finale as a teenager and became skilled at transcribing and arranging music, she performs her own arrangement of music that is requested for engagements. Creating her own electronic dub-step music is something new that she is excited to begin exploring and sharing. Besides Lindsey Stirling, Catherine is influenced by artists like Gary Stadler, Loreena Mckennitt, and Leah McHenry. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, Larry. They enjoy occasionally playing music together, as he also plays the violin, and they also enjoy traveling, exploring new places, hosting dinner parties, serving their church and community, bike riding, rock climbing, to name a few things. They host and attend Groupmuse events, Sofar Sounds events, local open mic nights, and enjoy discovering new things to do together. show more
