I am a senior studying Horticultural Science and Microbiology at Montana State University. I have taken a myriad of Horticulture courses in high school and college and have worked for Chalet Nursery in Wilmette, IL. This has allowed me to learn a great deal about plants, plant pathogens, and the science behind both that I wish to pass on to others. I have also been a member of the American Phytopathologic Society for 3 years.
I hope to attend the Graduate School at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champagne for a masters in Plant Pathology. Afterwards I hope to become a part of the Illinois Extension System to help everyone who needs it, from commercial farm operators to beginning horticulturists.
Specifically, I have experience with indoor and outdoor commercial plant production, growing systems and technology, plant biology, plant pathology, Integrated Pest Management practices, mycology, soil science, and some landscape design and maintenance experience.
Courses I have taken also emphasized prudent horticultural practices, human-plant ethnobotanical relationships, evolution, and sustainable management techniques.
