You supply the lyrics. For 50s per hour, I'll either (1) just write the music myself; or (2) help teach you basic music theory and put music to the lyrics. I can work quickly and provide you no-nonsense service, so you should be up and running in less time than you'd probably expect! This would be in a rock/pop/indie style.
Most songs contain a chorus, 2-3 verses, and a bridge. A classic ordering would be verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus, bridge, verse 3, chorus. Another might be verse 1, verse 2, chorus, verse 3, chorus, bridge, chorus, repeat chorus. However, I am very flexible and will help you determine what the best structure is for your particular story.
I love teaching. I have taught students in large classrooms and individually in many settings, from high school to universities. So, I am particularly interested in making the process fun and engaging.
Training & Qualifications
I studied music theory at Yale. I was also an English major, so I can help with tweaking lyrics. Right now I am teaching my 13 year old son to write a musical. We have a good structure and several songs written.
